Who I am

Mary Kocman (CA LMFT# 149634) received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. She has worked with adults, children, and couples in the therapy space for a number of years. Mary is still connected with her former training site, Coldwater Counseling Center, a depth-oriented agency in Studio City, California where she welcomes clients in-person. Mary's interests in the therapy space include working with dreams and sandtray. Mary is a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, using this body oriented modality to help regulate a client's nervous system and heal traumas. Mary's SE interests include working with transgenerational traumas, early childhood traumas, as well as individual traumatic events. Mary is also a "still working" librarian. Besides her regular fiction reads, she has an interest in the works of Joseph Campbell, Robert Johnson, Thomas Moore, and Donald Kalsched and is happy to bring this psychological reading material into sessions for discussion with clients.
